Bergens Tidende

Bergens Tidende (BT) was founded on 2 January 1868 by a printer named Johan Wilhelm Eide. The Bergens Tidende media house is now Western Norway’s leading media enterprise.

BT aims to contribute to development in Bergen and Western Norway that is characterized by a belief in the future, a desire to innovative and tolerance.

The media house’s core business is the Bergens Tidende, a morning newspaper distributed seven days a week. The newspaper’s core market is in Bergen and the surrounding municipalities, but it also has wide readership in the rest of the region of Hordaland and in Sogn and Fjordane.

The Bergens Tidende media house also owns several local newspapers, and is a market leader in multimedia through bt.no. It also operates extensive printing and distribution activities.

The company’s head office is situated in Bergen. The company is part of Schibsted Norge.
